Ami Sioux began her work shooting in New York in the mid 1990's, then moved to Berlin in late 2001 and is now living and working in Paris.
Her work is based on an intimacy…..one that demands a certain presence of the subjects in her images.
When she shoots a portrait, it is as if she "dances" with the person to find a way to show a hesitance,
a moment where the intention of each person she photographs is shown, present and alive.
She has released two books, entitled Paris 48°49N and Reykjavik 64°08N respectively.
She is a musician as well and can be found performing in various venues around Paris regularly.
Her next projects include an exhibition of her personal work as well as projects of books in Japan and the United States.
